Consider the following Albert Einstein quotes:
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.
We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
And of course, the renowned definition of insanity:
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Think about these quotes in the context of your individual work. Then, consider them in the context of how your team or delivery organization operates.
What are some things we could improve by simplifying? How can we think differently and what can we do differently to get the desired results instead of the same old results?
I could follow with another 500 words or so of what I think, but in this case I’m going to follow Einstein’s advice and leave “simple enough” alone.
